Wolin Bison Farm

A very popular place for hiking in the Wolin National Park is the European Bison Show Enclosure. There you can see with your own eyes species of animals such as wild boars, deer, roe deer and white-tailed eagles, which live in the Park. The white-tailed eagle, whose image has been visible in the coat of arms of Poland for a thousand years, is also a symbol of the Wolin National Park. It is the largest bird of prey in the park and the first mentions of this species come from the Wolin Island. Of course, the main attraction of the enclosure are the impressive European bisons. Our Wolin European bisons mainly belong to the lowland European bison species. All lowland European bisons, including those in the Wolin National Park, are entered in the European Bison Pedigree Book. Most of the animals currently living in the enclosure were born there, although new animals or those requiring treatment or quarantine are also brought in from time to time. Usually 1-2 European bisons are born per year.
